This past Tuesday was nothing short of a whirlwind for Tigers fans, with the announcement that Justin Verlander is set to make a triumphant return to his original team for what many expect to be a Hall of Fame-worthy farewell in 2026. This news was undoubtedly the highlight of the day, but it was quickly tempered by the unfortunate update that pitcher Reese Olson will be sidelined for the entire year due to surgery.
Amidst these major developments, one key move that might have flown under the radar was the finalization of Framber Valdez’s contract. Alongside Verlander’s comeback, this addition significantly strengthens the Tigers’ starting rotation as they prepare for spring training.
