Abhishek Sharma pulled off a historic 55-ball 141, guiding SRH to a record-breaking chase in the history of IPL. However, he mentioned after the match that his father would not be satisfied with his performance.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star player Abhishek Sharma played an explosive knock, as he scored a quick 55-ball 141 during their IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 12. Abhishek came out of his lack of form and scored one of the most memorable game in the history of the T20 tournament.
However, apart from this unforgettable knock by Abhishek, he has admitted that his father is not satisfied with his performance. With his score of 141, the southpaw became the Indian with the biggest individual score in the history of IPL.
Abhishek Sharma’s father and mother were present in the stands when the youngster broke records and set IPL on fire. In a conversation after the game, Abhishek revealed that his father is not going to be satisfied with him until he remains unbeaten till the end and finishes the game for his team.
“I think it’s my highest score in the IPL. My father keeps telling me to finish games, so he’s still not satisfied. There’s always room for improvement. I’ll keep working hard,” he said.

Abhishek’s father stated that he is happy as he saw his son pull off a massive game against Punjab. The duo of father and son even had a chat about SRH going through a lean patch in the tournament.
“I can’t express how happy I am,” he said. “I motivated him. I told him not to worry about the lean patch – it happens to every cricketer. He was a bit unlucky too. In the second match, he was run out. He played a few shots that didn’t quite clear the boundary. But now, he’s regained his confidence, and he won it for the team. In the coming days, he’ll do well, and so will SRH,” sais Abhishek’s father.
Coming to the match, PBKS opted to bat first after winning the toss. Skipper Shreyas Iyer smashed a blistering 82 off 36 balls, laced with six sixes and as many fours, powering his side to a mammoth 245/6, despite a four-wicket haul by SRH pacer Harshal Patel (4/42). Along with Shreyas, Priyansh Arya (36), Prabhsimran Singh (42) and Marcus Stoinis (34*) also played valiant cameos as the PBKS posted their second-highest total in IPL history.

However, Abhishek stole the show with an astonishing display of clean hitting. The southpaw, who was dropped once and caught off a no-ball in the fourth over, hammered 10 sixes and 14 fours, recording the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history as SRH chased down the huge target and ended their 4-match losing streak.
