Buying a puppy

There are many things to take into consideration when you are thinking of getting a dog. Do you have time to take care of your puppy? Will the puppy have to survive alone for several hours while you're at work? Or do you may have the ability to carry your puppy with you on the job the first time? Or best, do you have an opportunity to be home with the puppy in the beginning and then gradually leave the puppy home alone? It is important to be aware of that your puppy is a baby. You may experience lack of sleep, the puppy must often out to pee, it will chew on anything because it itches in the teeth, etc.

To acquire a dog should not be an impulse action! This is a family member that you will live with in 12-15 years ahead. Then it is important that this is thought through so that you can mutually benefit from each other.

Female or male?

When it comes to tibbies, it is said that males are more family dog than the bitches. Our experience is that this is more on individual than on gender.

Females: have a maturity of 1-2 times a year, can be plagued by false pregnancy

The male: "Runner" all year, can become frustrated and fussy when it's a bitch with a maturity near. Marks more than the female.

Colours

All colors are permissible. The most common color is the sable. Bottom color may vary. A coat without the black hair is not sable, but can be red, gold or cream. A tibbie may also be party color, ie it is white with golden or darker markings. Another variation is black/tan. There are several other variations as well, but they are rare.

Our puppies are growing up in the house with us and the other dogs. We try to give the puppies a good start in life by making them accustomed to domestic sounds like vacuum cleaning, sludge ring with boilers, sound from the tv/radio. From three weeks of age they are introduced to the other dogs in the house. It is also important that they get contact with other people. We never send puppies from us before they are 8 weeks old. Then it is important that you as a puppy buyer continues this imprint and social activation.

Puppy buyer must come and pick up the puppy - we will not send puppies alone by plane. We do not sell puppies to someone without being familiar with those who want to buy first. It is important for us to get acquainted with the puppy buyer so that we can ensure that the puppy comes to the right family. We have no objection to sell puppies to families with children, getting a dog is an enrichment, but the responsibility for the dog should be with an adult person. This is something we can not emphasize enough!

We do not require that the dog will be put on the dog exhibitions, but recommend to participate in environmental training. This is fun for both puppy and family. If the buyer wants to take the dog to shows, we'll be happy to assist with advice and guidance.

We want to keep close contact with the buyer in the time immediately after the puppy has moved. It can be a safety for both buyer and breeder. It appears like a lot of questions, and we on our side would like to know how it goes with the puppy, if it adapts to the new environment quickly (which it usually does), etc. Can't emphasize enough how nice it is with a picture now and then, or just a short message that the puppy is doing well!

So we hope that you get many good years of the new arrival! Good luck!
